Our Services

Inspiring Change offers both online counseling and life coaching. While at times life coaches and therapists assist clients with similar needs, their work is not the same. To help you get the right kind of professional expertise, it is important to gain understanding about which kind of guidance will best help you achieve your goals.

When Do I Seek Life Coaching?

Life Coaching is an effective way to help individuals who are actively looking to change their current circumstances. Their boat is sturdy and ready to set sail but may need some direction, guidance, and encouragement to lead them to success. Whereas therapy works on introspective growth, life coaching includes orchestrating a new life and determining how to make what was only a dream a reality. Coaching clients do not need as much healing or emotional support and instead need assistance with gaining clarity, establishing a plan, and taking action

When Do I Seek Counseling?

When we are not feeling our best, life can seem like we are trying to stay afloat in a leaky boat. We spend time trying to “patch the holes” to avoid the sinking feeling brought on by stress, anxiety, trauma, depression, and negative beliefs we can’t seem to shake. Attempting to sail the seas of life is difficult unless the boat you travel in is safe, secure, and whole. When you’re in this place it can be very difficult to take action and have it be successful. Working with a trained therapist can assist you in patching the holes in your boat which are holding you back from setting sail on your next journey. Therapy will assist in your personal growth in a more introspective manner occurring more on the inside than on the outside.

The Choice is Yours

If the support you need rests in the guidance and accountability of an industry expert who can help you get clarity and make an action plan, and you are feeling ready to set sail on the journey toward your dream destination — by all means, start with coaching. If continued growth on the inside, gaining further insight into yourself, and simply feel better through repairing the leaks sinking your boat — we invite you to start with counseling.

Individual Counseling

Single
Individual therapy is when you work one-on-one with a therapist to resolve personal issues or conflicts, find direction, or grow and change.  Through working with a therapist, you can resolve the emotional challenges of anxiety, depression, trauma, stress, or low self-esteem. Talking one-on-one with a trained professional in a confidential setting can be an extremely powerful and effective strategy to improve your life.

Children & Adolescents Counseling

Counseling for children and teens is provided in a safe and confidential environment. We work collaboratively with parents and caregivers to address whatever concerns are present, while also creating a trusting relationship with the child/teen. Many kids need help learning tools and techniques in dealing with depression, anxiety, bullying, compulsive issues, or peer pressure. Others may need to discuss their feelings about family issues especially if there are major life transitions such as divorce, a move, death, or a serious illness. Counseling can be a service that assists them in navigating and overcome these difficult challenges. The parent(s) involvement is still needed in order to make therapy work through collaboration on skills and techniques to further their child’s development and learning in therapy.

Family Counseling

Family
Family Counseling is utilized to deal with matters that affect more than just an individual in the family or just a couple. Whether you need to improve parent-child relationships, address behavioral problems in the children, learn to cope with a family member’s physical or mental illness, or just get a tune-up so that all members of your family can feel happier and better supported, talking with a family therapist can be an invaluable tool. Family therapy can be used in conjunction with individual and/or couples counseling.

Couples Counseling

Even couples in stable relationships sometimes struggle from time to time to improve communication and problem-solving skills, learn how to disagree in healthy, constructive ways, learn to negotiate differences or share greater intimacy. Couples counseling can also be beneficial in helping rocky relationships get back on track – whether the task is to heal from infidelity or lack of trust, prevent divorce, or regain a sense of closeness, talking with a trained professional can make all the difference.

Life coaches work with their clients to help them achieve goals, overcome obstacles, and make changes or shifts in their lives. Through specific strategies and skills, the coach helps you define yourself and create the life you envision. Coaches help you focus, provide direction, challenge you, support you, motivate you, and celebrate with you. Life coaches help you create a plan, detail action steps, and hold you accountable for following through. They use skills that include observing, listening deeply, asking empowering questions, challenging, and motivating.
